Floriography

The language of flowers is known as floriography. Flowers are more than a gift or decoration; they are a language in themselves. They allow you to convey your feelings without saying a word. Whether it is love, friendship, jealousy or passion, a carefully chosen flower tells your story.

Flowers have played an important role in cultures around the world for centuries. They radiate in works of art, inspire poetry, are offered to gods and surprise as personal gifts. In the Victorian era, floriography flourished as a secret method of communication. In a time when emotions often could not be shared openly, people sent each other bouquets full of hidden messages. Recipients consulted special flower dictionaries to decipher the meaning of each petal. Each flower had its own unique symbolism and each bouquet became a code to crack.

Do you want to send a special message with a botanical jewel? Below is the meaning of a number of flowers that I often use in my pendants. Surprise the most important people in your life with an extra meaningful piece of jewellery. From family and friends to colleagues - or that one true love...
